Kid’s Book Review: Seven Wonders – The Colossus Rises by Peter Lerangis

seven wonders collossus rises

After collapsing at school and ending up in the hospital, Jack is brought to an island in the middle of nowhere. There he meets a scientist who tells him that he has a rare genetic condition that will end his life at fourteen and there is only one cure. He is also told that this condition makes him superhuman in certain ways.

Rating: 7.5/10 – This book is very imaginative and vivid. The story of this first book of the series is unique, and there is lots of fun and adventure without interruption from bad guys. There were some slow parts, but all in all it was an enjoyable book.

Kid’s Book Review: How to Steal a Dragon’s Sword by Cressida Cowell

Hiccup and the other warriors-to-be have one final test to climb Angry Mountain to reach Flashburn’s Palace. There, they will compete in the sword fighting tournament to achieve higher ranking. When they arrive, something is wrong. Nobody is there except a witch who happens to be the mother of Alvin the Treacherous.

Rating: 1/10 – The entire storyline was drawn out and slow. Every time it showed any sign of getting better, it would take a nose dive. The villains are horrible and there is so much negative drama that I found it depressing at every turn.
